My model merely codifies how powerful brands communicate. They never talk about features, models or price points. They talk about the purpose: why they do things they do. Because, people don't buy what you do; they buy why you do it. Take for instance, Apple. People were in a queue for six hours to buy an iPhone when it first came out, when you could have just walked into the store the next week and bought one off the shelf. They didn't do it for Apple, but for themselves. It's because they believe in what the company believes in: "To be the first ones to change the world." Another example. Listen to politicians with their comprehensive 12-point plans. They're not inspiring anybody. On the other hand, Anna Hazare inspires billions without the help of intelligent writers crafting ingenious speeches for him. People followed him everywhere - from Ramleela Maidan to Twitter - not because they had to, because they wanted to. Because, they believe in what he believes: a nation free of corruption.
